The Space
The large deck and outdoor fire pit are great places to enjoy the cool mountain air, watch deer walk by, or just relax with family and friends. Enjoy grilling on the propane grill, or toasting marshmallows over a wood fire in the fire pit (fire wood provided). The forested hillside and private adjacent lot add to the feeling of privacy.
Neighborhood
This cabin is located in Alton, Utah, within the Elk Ridge cabin development at the intersection of Hwy 89 and Hwy 14. This is a great home-base for your Southern Utah vacation. Enjoy the National Parks, State Parks, hiking, fishing, ATV trails, and horseback riding which are all within a 1-hour drive or less from this centrally located cabin.
Transportation
There is an international airport in Las Vegas, NV (4 hours) and Salt Lake City, UT (4 ½ hours). Cedar City and St. George each have a regional airport. Las Vegas and Salt Lake City are both linked with Interstate 15 with an exit to Cedar City. You will need to rent a car from one of these airports when you arrive.
Guest Access
Please note: you must be able to climb stairs - the cabin has three levels. The main level (2nd floor) living room/kitchen/dining area is open and spacious with beautiful views of the mountains. The kitchen is well stocked and convenient for meal preparation. There is also a full bath and laundry room on the main level. The home is equipped with 4 flat screen TVs (Direct TV with sports channels in each bedroom and the living room), a DVD player, and high speed internet Wi-Fi for your convenience.
The upper level (3rd floor) has two large bedrooms and one full bathroom. There is a king size bed in bedroom 1 and a queen size bed in bedroom 2. Both bedrooms are extra spacious with sofa sitting areas and TVs.
In the walk out basement (3rd bedroom, great for kids) there is a second family room with a TV. The full size sofa is a pull out sleeper and there is also room for kids in the full/twin bunk beds. There is also a half bathroom off of this second family room.
House Rules
- Non-smoking indoors. Discrete outside smoking is allowed.
- Please remove and leave your shoes near the back door laundry room entrance, or in the lower level mudroom.
- Please drive slowly on the driveway and parking area.
- Not recommended for children under 5 years of age, our cabin is not child proof.
Host Interaction
We live in Hawaii and will coordinate check-in logistics with you via email, text messaging, and phone. An electronic key code is used for entering the house at the back door.
