Central to everything in Southern Utah: Bryce Canyon National Park (28 min), Zion National Park (60 min), Red Canyon (8 min), Kodachrome Basin (47 min). You’ll love staying here because of the spectacular 360˚ views on a private 15 acre property in Rock Canyon. You'll have the entire canyon to yourself, conveniently and easily accessible right off of Hwy 89. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
|Bed Type||Matress||Pets||Yes, dogs only.|
Two private bedrooms (1-king and 1-queen) and two full bathrooms. Full kitchen and living room area. Outdoor deck has a couple small tables, plenty of chairs, and a gas grill for cooking.
Note house is off grid, power comes from a top of the line energy efficient Honda generator and a 500 gallon propane tank. Awesome open floor plan, great for cooking and hanging out in the living room with friends and family. No neighbors, no noise, just have fun and enjoy the peaceful outdoors.
Miles of off-road ATV, motocross, and hiking back country trails up into Rock Canyon directly accessed from the back yard. Note these trails are not accessible other than through this property, there is no pass through traffic. Bring your dog(s) off leash walking trails all around the property. Grab your fishing poles and walk to a secret tunnel that goes under Hwy 89 and go trout fishing in the Sevier river.
Nearest amenities, including restaurants and gasoline, are in Hatch, four miles south on Hwy 89. A wider variety of restaurants, gasoline, and grocery shopping is available in Panguitch, 11 miles north on Hwy 89, or in Bryce Canyon City, about half an hour east on Hwy 12. Some nearby restaurants are closed on Sundays. Most nearby restaurants close fairly early, 8pm or 9pm. There are no 24-hour convenience stores in close proximity.
There is no public transportation available in Hatch or Panguitch. You will need your own vehicle. Highway 89 (note speed limit is 65 mph) can be at times a very busy highway in the summer, driveway is accessed directly off of Hwy. 89. Parking is on our gravel driveway, which can accommodate small to medium-sized RV's. Note if you are planning to arrive after dark there may be deer and other animals crossing the roads, please drive carefully.
Two private entrances, front and back of house. Off-street parking in gravel driveway. The house is set back about 100 feet away from Hwy 89.
House manual is located inside the house on top of the refrigerator as well as 4 flashlights. If you arrive after dark you should expect that it will be very dark unless there is good moonlight, it's a good idea to bring and keep your own flashlight with you in your car during your stay.
The front porch has a solar security light that should automatically turn on when it detects motion. There are also outdoor solar lights surrounding the exterior of the house. If I'm in Hawaii during your stay my Mom Jeannie and her husband David will be your local hosts. We will meet and greet you the first night you arrive, show you how to turn on the Honda generator and answer any questions you might have.
- Non-smoking indoors. Discrete outside smoking allowed.
- Regarding pets, only dogs are allowed. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture. Cleanup after your dog around the outside yard area.
- Leave shoes next to the front door entrance.
- Turn generator off when you are not home.
- Please drive slowly on the driveway and parking area.
- Not recommended for children under 5 years of age, the house is not child proof.
I live in Hawaii however my Mom Jeannie and her husband David live 1 mile down Hwy. 89, they will be your local hosts. Jeannie and or David will meet you upon your arrival and give you a short tour of the house and show you how to operate the generator and answer any questions you might have.
Check-in: 3:00pm, Check-out: 11:00am, 1-night minimum
Location: The address is 6410 South Hwy 89, Panguitch, Utah, however if you search Google maps with this address it is incorrect, so here's what you do: if you are coming from the South it's 5 miles past the town of Hatch. If you are coming from the North it's 3 miles past the turn off for Scenic Byway 12. The house is set back from the road but has a U.S. flag flying out front that you can see from the highway. Another thing to keep an eye our for are the wagon wheels, and address posts near the driveway entrance (as seen in my photos). It's definitely easier to find during the day than at night. If you drive past don't worry just look for place to turn around along side of the highway, but please be careful as it is a 65mph highway, so don't rush, wait for oncoming cars to pass.
